Dear Sir,
THE PEOPLE’S LACK OF HEALTH AWARENESS DURING PANDEMIC COVID-19
I am writing this letter to you to draw your attention to the above matter. As a responsible citizen, I am calling to inform you that most of the citizens here still lack health awareness.
2. For your information, people still do not wash their hands frequently and hone poor personal hygiene. They are not aware of the fact that this deadly virus could transfer through touch and yet they still shake hands and hug each other. Apart from that, wet tissues and handkerchiefs are not used as they still rub their face area with bare hands after sneezing or coughing. I am also disappointed that some citizens here stay too close to each other on public transport like trains and buses.
3. I also realized that some people even throw away their used facemasks anywhere that eventually has resulted in littered facemasks near some dustbins and flying around the roadside. This act indicates that they do not know how to discard used facemasks properly. Besides, there are no domestics thermometers provided by most small premises. Despite poor management by the owners, people still insist on entering the shop and run their errands without worry.
4. Hence, I would like to give some suggestions on how to deter the problems stated above. First, health awareness campaigns should be held via live sessions frequently as a reminder to the citizens about our current issues and ways to prevent them. People could just stay at home without having to gather for. Hand sanitizer could also be provided at crowded places. The citizens could use it in case they forgot to bring theirs. Additionally, provide toothpicks at lifts and public transport as it can be used to press lift buttons and ring the bus bell. This way could prevent people from touching the same spot.
5. Moreover, the authorized party could schedule the public sanitization to be done at places that people assemble the most like shops, schools and offices. Since the symptoms of the virus are vaguely seen, a free Covid-19 rapid test would be much help to curb the disease from worsening. Those who can not afford the high price could examine themselves so new cases could be detected and cured early. Also, provide health officers to guard at reported places to increase the surveillance towards citizens who ignore the order.
6. I hope that you will look into these matters and take appropriate measures to help our country combat this disease. Thank you.
Yours faithfully,
suhaila
